This gentleman, I’m guessing from Norway or thereabouts, has decided to do live painting but in a big, big way. By combining multiple canvases with some rather inventive stop-motion photography… well, I’ll just present the video for you to draw your own conclusions. No pun intended.

Some information about the artist, Thijme Termaat, from his blog:

My name is Thijme Termaat (pronounced ‘tie-muh’ ‘tir-maat’).

I was born on 19-01-1987 in Ursem, a small town in the north of Holland.

After high school I went to the Design Academy Eindhoven hoping to express my creativity there.

Half a year later I knew: I wanted to become a painter. So I quit my education and started to paint…

A Night in Vienna

February 25, 2012 • 7:30 pm

Strauss • On The Beautiful Blue Danube, Op. 314

Mozart • Piano Concerto No. 21 In C Major, K. 467, “Elvira Madigan”

Beethoven • Symphony No. 7, Op. 92 In A Major

Join us for a night in the musical capital of Europe. You will hear Strauss’ famous Blue Danube waltz as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, called the Elvira Madigan because of its use in the film by the same name. This concerto has romance and sublime beauty combined with classical refinement. Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony sparkles with rhythmic vitality, and it has one of the most moving slow movements Beethoven ever wrote.

Dr. William Intriligator, CSO Conductor, will host Classic Conversations at 6:30 pm in the auditorium of the Civic Center. This is an opportunity to hear more about the pieces to be performed and the composers’ lives.
